Rachel began dancing at the age of four. She started competing regionally and nationally at the age of 12, traveling around the United States receiving top awards. Graduate of William Chrisman High School, she was part of the Beartrackers dance team for four years and captain as two. She received many awards such as: NCA All-American for two years, UDA All-Star and Best Leaps and Turns. 

Rachel received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with an emphasis in Ballet and Modern. She was on a cheerleading scholarship for the Roos at UMKC. Rachel has taught dance for 13 years. She is a member of Dance Masters of America Chapter 28. Rachel has completed year two of Teachers Training School and is a National Certified Examiner. She worked under the direction of Christine Palmer for many years and bought the dance studio in July of 2006 and renamed it Releve’ Performing Arts.

Working with the competitive group of dancers, Encore Dancers, Inc., Rachel’s Choreography has won top scoring awards through the years. Her students have held many titles at dance competitions and later gone on to purse dance careers and college dance scholarships. She has also been an adjudicator for dance competitions circuit within the Midwest and directs Dance Masters of America Chapter 28 title competition annually.

Rachel helped integrate the fine art of dance into the Kansas City School system. She founded and began the dance program of a Northeast Kansas City Charter School, Scuola Vita Nuova. Her students perform in many local community shows and school recitals as well. This 2008 summer one of her students will be recognized on scholarship to dance, sing and act in the summer program of Starlight Theater. 

Rachel truly loves the art of dance and teaching. She thanks her students for daily inspiration and her family for the dedication to help keep her dance dream alive.
